This is a QAA approved Access to HE Diploma covering 45 graded credits in three subjects (Chemistry, Biology and Physics) and 15 ungraded credits in Developmental modules.Students will study various units in Chemistry, Biology and Physics, building upon knowledge from GCSE level.Units are chosen to fit the range of university course choices that students prefer to study. Students also take developmental modules to build their skills in studying at advanced level.
Progression
Students progress onto a range of science-related degrees including at Russell Group universities.These include chemistry, biology, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, environmental sciences, forensic science, psychology, and zoology.Students also progress to competitive health science degrees including physiotherapy, radiography and nutritional science, and also non-science degrees.Assessment
The majority of the course is assessed by written coursework and formal practical tasks. Some units are assessed by examination.
Entry Requirements
Five GCSEs at grade 4 including English, Mathematics and two science subjects (Combined Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology).Functional Skills in English and Mathematics are not accepted.
