A student on Pendleton’s A-Level Photography programme was shortlisted for the CTL & Track exhibition capturing Moments of Connection—and we are thrilled to announce the student’s work was selected as the winner! This win marks yet another fantastic achievement from our many talented creative arts students, and we are immensely proud of all the work that has gone into this win.

The competition sought images of close moments of connection between people. With a huge range of fantastic submissions, Pendleton student India was able to showcase what is, to her, the sort of moment that can only be captured with those you have close access with. “I love capturing raw moments on film, especially of my friends,” India said. “To me, this photograph best represents what connection is.”

The event, which was held at the Track Taproom & Brewery, brought judges together to assess and evaluate the shortlisted photographs out of a huge 115 submissions. The judges had some amazing feedback for India’s work, and she even got the chance to discuss opportunities and the creative process with other like-minded people at the event. She came away with some great prizes but, just as important, an unmatched learning experience and opportunity to share her work at this early stage in her creative career.

India’s win, and her unique and highly personal creative drive, embody the artistic and expressive values of all of Salford City College’s students. Our goal in creative arts courses, and indeed in any of our wide range of qualifications and pathways, is to nurture and grow the vision and potential of all our students. India’s teachers, and all the staff at the college, are really proud of what she has achieved here and watch eagerly for her further success in the future.
